Primal Beauty of Transformation in Six Sentence Sunday

Six Sentence Sunday is a weekly blog hop where participants share six sentence snippets from a book or work in progress. Today’s six sentences are from my Bound by Blood novel in progress. Bound by Blood is a gay paranormal erotic romance in an urban fantasy setting.

Kieran had always appreciated the primal beauty in the natural struggles of life. One of his favorite things to do had always been watching wildlife shows; Sean always thought it was gruesome and boring, but Kieran could watch for hours. A creature was never quite so beautiful as when it was hunting and killing.

Even now, in a situation made all the more desperate for the fact that he knew his time was running out, the fascination remained. He methodically squeezed off shot after shot from his Glock, each one permanently felling a walking corpse, as he focused on the transformation happening at the periphery of his vision. The deathly pale skin and the midnight black hair remained the same, but the vampire’s visage transformed from the very attractive one of the man Kieran knew to one beautifully twisted by bloodlust and the thrill of the hunt.
