Compulsion Dark and Beautiful in Saturday #SeductiveStuds bloghop

Saturdays are the best day of the week now that m/m fiction writers have chosen this day to come together to share excerpts from their writing with each other and their readers. Each writer posts a short snippet from a published book or a work in progress. Today’s excerpt comes from Bound by Blood, my series of gay paranormal urban fantasy romance short stories.

“Release him, bloodsucker,” the darkly beautiful man commanded. “You pagan beasts have no claims to the souls of men.”

“Perhaps not but we of the divine order most certainly do,” came a response from behind the bar.

“Look at him, Danyel. He desires nothing but to come to me.”

“Now he does, but when I remove the scales from his eyes, he will put a bullet between yours,” the peri with eyes as cold as an arctic winter retorted.

“Remove as many imaginary scales as you please, it will make no difference,” the demon replied, his voice sultry and his eyes seductive. “The vampire awakened desires in him which he was unaware he had but are nonetheless real and powerful. Those affections have been transferred to me, and if he as a human truly desires me as a demon, Danyel, you do not possess the authority to keep him from me.”

“Choose any other human you want and we won’t stand in your way, Azariel, but you will not have this one,” Samyel vowed in a dangerous tone as he stepped in front of the red-haired man, breaking the eye contact and the powerful compulsion.

It’s always nice to be fought over, but which red-haired man is it? I’m not telling, and neither is he. You’ll just have to wait and see.
